Summer STEM Opportunities - iTEAMS




SC Governor’s School for Science & Mathematics

Started in collaboration with Google, iTEAMS is the Innovation, Technology & Entrepreneurship Among Middle Schoolers summer experience. iTEAMS is a day camp that inspires students to pursue careers in the fields of computer science, technology and entrepreneurship through hands-on, team-based projects. 

Who is eligible to apply?
Rising 7th and 8th graders in iTEAMS counties. 
*Girl Scouts must reside in the county of the iTEAMS location they are planning to attend.

Program Dates & Locations 
8:30 AM - 3:30 PM daily

Greenville County: June 16-19, Hughes Academy
Greenwood County: June 16-19, Greenwood High School
Richland County: June 23-26, W.J. Keenan High School
Spartanburg County: July 7-10, Carver Middle School
Lexington County: July 21-24, Lexington Technology Center

Application Deadline
Extended to May 5, 2014

Cost: Free (includes lunch).

SC Governor’s School for Science & Mathematics

NEW! CREATEng, a new, one-of-a-kind, four-day immersion into engineering and design-based thinking is for rising 9th graders. Working in teams, students will engage in a problem-based curriculum where they apply principles of engineering design to solve daily challenges.

Who is eligible to apply?
Rising 9th graders who live in Greenville County

Program Dates & Location
8:30 AM - 4:00 PM daily 

July 14-17 - Greenville High Academy

Cost: $250 per student (includes meals, snacks and instructional materials).

Cookie Dough (unused/unexpired) may be used. 

Council sponsored financial assistance will be awarded on a needs basis and first-come, first-served basis. All requests for camperships must be submitted by April 28, 2014. 

Application Deadline
Extended to May 5, 2014

Applications and financial aid requests will be accepted on a rolling basis until the camp is full.

SC Governor’s School for Science & Mathematics

GoSciTech residential summer science camp is for students interested in exploring the endless possibilities of science and technology.

Who is eligible to apply?
Rising 8th, 9th and 10th graders residing in South Carolina who have demonstrated scholarship in science and math.

Program Dates & Location
Week 1: June 15-21
Week 2: June 22-28
Week 3: July 6-12
Week 4: July 13-19

GSSM’s Hartsville Campus - 401 Railroad Ave, Hartsville, SC 29550

Cost: Varies.  Course fees cover meals, lodging, staffing and related educational materials. 

Cookie Dough (unused/unexpired) may be used.  

Council sponsored financial assistance will be awarded on a needs basis and first-come, first-served basis. All requests for camperships must be submitted by May 9, 2014.
